Selfmade Watercolor: Blood Red

I did it again... After my last ill-advised watercolor experiment I decided to try color-making again.

This time, I was aiming for a transparent dark red with granulation effect. It even kind of worked... :D

Uhh, I did it the mad scientist way, I didn't measure anything... x_x (I don't own lab scales or other professional equipment.) I just, uh, put stuff in my agate mortar (the one lab-quality piece I own) and mixed them...

Your approach to paint production is like my approach to making mocktails. I just pour in random quantities of fruit juice and Sprite and Grenadine syrup and hope for the best. XD

It's basically my ideal dark red, too. XDD Had to make it because no one sells anything like it! But I need it for one particular picture! (A Koh picture, obviously.) Is it decadent to produce paint just for one drawing?

If it's decadent, then we should all be decadent. :) I can think of a couple fountain pen inks that look like this (Diamine Burgundy Royale and Montblanc Alfred Hitchcock, not coincidentally also my FAVORITE fountain pen ink reds) but not an on-the-market watercolor red either. XD
