...it's unbelievable but already it's the 24th, and of course, I had to open my last advent calendar door flowerpot directly after midnight! (Not against the rules, lalala...) And... I'm totally speechless.

Today the flower was a lovely fake orchid in original size (which I'm also definitely going to keep; it's going to make a nice decoration for a dress I'm planning!), and inside... I can't even. I'm totally speechless.

Several of my online friends have been collecting money to collectively get me this gift. That's, uh, three flat Kolinsky sable brushes in large sizes. (Width of the largest one is 1.5''!) From several of the best brush manufacturers out there (Winsor&Newton, elco, daVinci). In other words, that'sstuff I can't afford and that's totally wasted on me approximately my art material budget for the whole next year... And it's not as if my brush stand isn't already the most valuable thing in my room. (I don't know if any of you are familiar with the unfortunate tendency of watercolor paintbrushes to become very very expensive with increasing size...) But I actually needed a large flat brush! So this is - I don't really know what to say. It's incredible. And probably the world's most extreme advent calendar parcel.
In other words, HOLY SH*T.
Thanks to everybody who contributed to this! I'll try to do something worthy with it. And now I can actually approach serious illustration in large formats! (Cheap paintbrushes suck, they make blotchy areas and keep losing hairs. So far I've been working with a kitchen sponge which is, uh, also not quite optimal in terms of watercolor technique... But actually better than cheap paintbrushes, LOL) I'm sooooo looking forward to using these! :D
